14 Feb

This Saturday sees an exciting gluten free open day at Plymouth Greengrocer, situated at Chaplins Plymouth.  Centre piece of the event will be a gluten free Chinese demonstration from Lai Yin Wong-Brooks of Eight Food.  Also present will be Lisa Hackett of Let Them Eat Cake and Tina Hurford of Traditional Puddings who will be offering samples of their gluten free treats.

Visitors on the day will have a chance to enter a competition to win £30 worth of gluten free food.  There will be a gluten free buffet on offer where you will be able to tasted Plymouth Greengrocer’s gluten free pasties, the Baked to Taste range from GFree, Plymouth Greengrocer branded GF sausages from WF Chinns and items from the Foodamentalists.

Also present will be agent Andy Walton who will be representing Scrubbys Crisps, Infusion Rapeseed Oils and Mr Fitzpatricks Cordials.  You can read more about the event from The Herald here.  You will of course be able to purchase from Plymouth Greengrocers standard gluten free products, and also their range of fruit and veg.  I’m personally looking forward to attending the event, and I hope to see some Gluten Free by the Sea followers there!

Update 22/02/2012: A really enjoyable event and it was great to see so many happy faces as gluten free folk discovered great food.  Thanks to Plymouth Greengrocer for organising such a great day.  Read some reviews of the day below from Love Lactose Free Life and The Herald:
